I am a recent graduate of the Masters of Physiotherapy program from Glasgow Caledonian University. I have always had a passion for fitness and sports. I played rep basketball and danced competitively for several years. I also completed my Personal Training certification through Canfitpro. Throughout my studies, I discovered how much I enjoy helping people live their lives to the fullest, be it restoring their function and mobility, recovering from injuries, managing pain, or improving their fitness and athletic performance. I’m always interested in learning about advancements and new developments in the physiotherapy field. This led me to conduct my dissertation thesis on the use of virtual reality for improving hand function in burn patients. I look forward to an exciting career helping people in the physiotherapy field!

Hi, My name is Joseph. I’m a registered physiotherapist with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from York University and a Masters of Science of Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto.
I became a physiotherapist because I loved two things: sports and helping people. 10 years into my career nothing has changed. My patients and the relationships I’ve formed with them remain the best part of this job. Likewise, I remain very passionate about sports and fitness. Growing up I played a lot of hockey, baseball and soccer. Weight training is something I also came to love and appreciate after seeing its effect on my own sports performance.
Over the last ten years I’ve developed a treatment skill-set that allows me to get to the root of my patient’s problems. I use a combination of manual therapy, electroacupuncture and exercise to get my patients better. As part of my assessment approach I ask a lot of questions. What forces has your body been under? How often and for how long? What past injuries have you had? What are you doing or not doing that may have contributed to your problem?
The answers to these questions help me shape a story about your injury or pain problem. WHY do you have pain? That is the key question for us to answer. When we can answer that question, what we need to do for treatment becomes much more clear. I work with my patients to put this puzzle together.
When I’m not treating or playing sports you’ll find me hanging out at home with my family. I’m also a big fan of the outdoors. In the summers my free time is spent getting in a round of golf or exploring a new lake for some fishing. At the centre of our life is my son who is starting to explore sports of all kinds. Whether it be golf, soccer, hockey, skiing, or just playing mini sticks in the living room, watching him try new sports has reignited my passion for them. I look forward to helping you move, feel, and perform better.
