I am a recent graduate of the Masters of Physiotherapy program from Glasgow Caledonian University. I have always had a passion for fitness and sports. I played rep basketball and danced competitively for several years. I also completed my Personal Training certification through Canfitpro. Throughout my studies, I discovered how much I enjoy helping people live their lives to the fullest, be it restoring their function and mobility, recovering from injuries, managing pain, or improving their fitness and athletic performance. I’m always interested in learning about advancements and new developments in the physiotherapy field. This led me to conduct my dissertation thesis on the use of virtual reality for improving hand function in burn patients. I look forward to an exciting career helping people in the physiotherapy field!

Hi, My name is Joseph. I’m a registered physiotherapist with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from York University and a Masters of Science of Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto.

I became a physiotherapist because I loved two things: sports and helping people. 10 years into my career nothing has changed. My patients and the relationships I’ve formed with them remain the best part of this job. Likewise, I remain very passionate about sports and fitness. Growing up I played a lot of hockey, baseball and soccer. Weight training is something I also came to love and appreciate after seeing its effect on my own sports performance.
Over the last ten years I’ve developed a treatment skill-set that allows me to get to the root of my patient’s problems. I use a combination of manual therapy, electroacupuncture and exercise to get my patients better. As part of my assessment approach I ask a lot of questions. What forces has your body been under? How often and for how long? What past injuries have you had? What are you doing or not doing that may have contributed to your problem?
The answers to these questions help me shape a story about your injury or pain problem. WHY do you have pain? That is the key question for us to answer. When we can answer that question, what we need to do for treatment becomes much more clear. I work with my patients to put this puzzle together.

When I’m not treating or playing sports you’ll find me hanging out at home with my family. I’m also a big fan of the outdoors. In the summers my free time is spent getting in a round of golf or exploring a new lake for some fishing. At the centre of our life is my son who is starting to explore sports of all kinds. Whether it be golf, soccer, hockey, skiing, or just playing mini sticks in the living room, watching him try new sports has reignited my passion for them. I look forward to helping you move, feel, and perform better.

Karim was able to combine his love for travelling, diversity and health when he studied in Amsterdam, at the European School of Physiotherapy in order to pursue the best treatment for his patients. During his time there, he provided on-field assessments and treatment to elite Rugby, Soccer and Basketball teams, and provided evidence-based treatment in an outpatient private practice. In addition, he completed several internships throughout Europe and North America, including Amsterdam, Florida and Toronto.

He is one of the few practioners to complete the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program and Advanced Neurofunctional Sports Performance Program concurrently, all while completing his Physiotherapy degree. These courses fostered new skills, and refined his manual therapy techniques and use of Acupuncture and Micro-Conditioning as a treatment tool. Karim also completed a thesis on best practice in post-surgical physiotherapy for Pediatric Bone Cancer patients.

He continues to further his understanding of the human body and athletic injuries through various athletic therapy courses and sports taping courses. He decided to move back to Toronto in order to pursue his dreams. Karim has always balanced his success as a healthcare practitioner by volunteering and through his involvement in community events in both Toronto and Amsterdam. He is committed to lifelong learning by continuing to take courses in order to provide evidence-based treatments.

Karim believes in maintaining a healthy balance in life. He emphasizes the role of staying active, spending time with family, and constant self-education in promoting a high standard and quality of life. Although weather may not always permit in Toronto, Karim tries to integrate the Dutch bike culture in his daily living. However, when the weather is not on his side, He enjoys playing basketball and watching his favorite team, The Raptors, strive towards the top of the NBA.

My name is Sabrina Rea-Vicinanzo. I have my Master’s of Physiotherapy, and am a Kinesiology graduate from the University of Toronto, a Certified Personal Trainer, and a Certified Nutrition Coach.

I have always had a passion for strength and conditioning because of its ability to reveal the extraordinary abilities that our bodies possess.

As a Kinesiology student, all of my peers were extremely fit and the majority of them were Varsity Athletes. When starting university, I had recently sustained an ankle injury that had halted my competitive soccer days and I had gained a substantial amount of weight. I was feeling demotivated, inadequate, and weak. These feelings held me down, however that’s when I met the amazing people in my life that held me up and taught me to take small steps to get myself feeling back on my feet.

I took this as my opportunity to completely immerse myself in learning everything about fitness, the body, and building healthy habits. I vowed to continue my learning outside of school and become the best coach I could be.

My practice is built on two pillars, the first being evidence-based education on healthy lifestyles and the second being body positivity, compassion, and LOVE. I vow to give every patient the opportunity and tools to meet their goals and become the best versions of themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally.
